Sunshine and Sovereignty
She followed the sun to a place her heart longed for. Told she could never leave the water for the dry desert. Told she'd die, told she would fail, told she'd never be truly happy, told if she left she could never come back. Anything to scare her they tried but deep in her she new she had to go, had to follow her heart, had to stand up for her intuition. She chose sovereignty over fear and lived happily ever after.
She is a drawing I did when I started to feel like the walls were closing in on me. Seeing daily violence, not knowing how to help, to some how still exist financially in a country that is actively hurting its people and collapsing. It’s not something I never thought I’d have to navigate but I am choosing to stay present, to never give up hope and not allow fear to dictate my life. She is joy, she is happiness, she is what sovereignty looks like to me. This girl comes with her very own Chasing West dust bag for safe keeping like the sacred treasure she is.
