I often think about symbols and hide meanings, little gems if you will. If you look at any of my Jackrabbits or Jackalopes more often than not they Have one ear forward and one ear back but always still present in the moment. It's to represent how we should always remember the past, be present in the moment but also look to the future. All three are equally as important as the other.
The blue floral pattern to represent my Norwegian heritage but also celebrate the Hispanic culture I live amongst and love so dearly. The sun because shadows can never hide from her. I work out my most hidden internal shadows in the light of the sun.
This symbolic headstall is straight from my dreams, made by my own two hands. Tooled and painted Hermann Oak leather, brown suede, turquoise stones, and a slick little split ear.
