This piece was such a gorgeous reminder of nothing and no one is perfect. I had a slip of a knife and her backside got nicked. Structurally she is perfect but aesthetically she is flawed. I thought great, how can I possibly sell her now. But then I decided I'm going to keep pouring love into her. I'm going to not only finish her but celebrate her flaws and adorn her with even more stones, straps and even a cutout heart. This is what loving your shadows looks like. Finding the parts that are dark and painful and pouring love into them. Deciding that even though you are flawed you are still worth loving. This is why I named this piece Shadow Chasers.
I painted the little cut with gold paint because even her flaws are beautiful and it really just adds to who she is.
